Tulsa Ballet Brings Holiday Magic to the Stage with The Nutcracker.
PLUS, New Partnership with Tulsa Opera Adds Festive Live Caroling to Select Performances
Tulsa, OK -Tulsa Ballet’s most beloved holiday tradition returns to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center this December as The Nutcracker once again enchants audiences of all ages with its breathtaking choreography, dazzling costumes, and timeless Tchaikovsky score. This year’s production features an exciting new collaboration with Tulsa Opera, whose artists will perform live holiday caroling before select performances, setting a festive tone for an unforgettable evening of magic and music.
This exciting holiday production features over 1,000 costumes, large moving scenery pieces, festive holiday projections, and a cast of more than 150 local children. It features choreography by Val Caniparoli and Ma Cong, both previous Resident Choreographers for Tulsa Ballet.
Every December, families from all over Green Country make the trip downtown to the Tulsa PAC to add a little magic to their holiday season. Tulsa Ballet Artistic Director Marcello Angelini says, “I am thrilled to share our Nutcracker production with our community year after year.” Caniparoli adds, “We really created it for all ages. It’s magical and it’s for the young at heart. We want you to be able to bring your children and see it through the children’s eyes. I just really wanted it to be entertaining and go from generation to generation.”
After kicking off this holiday tradition with two performances on Sunday, December 7th, Tulsa Ballet will also be holding Hope for the Holidays on December 12th.
Each year Tulsa Ballet partners with local social services to provide thousands of children and families the opportunity to enjoy The Nutcracker free of charge for our Hope for the Holidays event. This magical night is possible thanks to generous donations and support from the Tulsa community.
