TULSA, OK – Tulsa Ballet is proud to announce its upcoming 2026/2027 Season, a season full of the classics, including Cinderella, Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet, and a few contemporary pieces sprinkled in.
“Next season Tulsa Ballet will celebrate a monumental milestone: it’s 70th anniversary season,” Marcello Angelini says. “With that in mind, I wanted to share a season with our community worthy of such a landmark. Together we will celebrate some of the artistic achievements of the last three decades, the pillars of our repertory that transformed Tulsa Ballet into the cultural force it is today.”
The season will kick off with Creations in Studio K, a favorite among our subscribers, a program introduced in 2008 by Artistic Director Marcello Angelini meant to bring world-renowned, as well as up-and-coming, choreographers to Tulsa from all corners of our country and the world. Creations in Studio K 2026 will be comprised entirely of World Premieres, opening with the return of Emmy Award-winning choreographer Natasha Adorlee, a second piece performed by the second company of Tulsa Ballet, TBII, choreographed by Yuri Yanowsky, and a third piece by former Tulsa Ballet Resident Choreographer Ma Cong.
October welcomes to the Tulsa PAC stage Swan Lake, still one of the most popular ballets of all time, with this version choreographed by Tulsa Ballet’s own Marcello Angelini (after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov). December will, of course, see the return of The Nutcracker (by Val Caniparoli and Ma Cong), a version as traditional as it gets, set in 19th century Germany. Fall 2026 will also welcome a brand-new ballet geared toward younger audiences, The Ugly Duckling, by Natasha Adorlee, a part of the Hardesty Family Foundation Children’s Series and a contemporary twist on the familiar story.
At the top of 2027, Cinderella, another long-standing classic in ballet repertory, will turn the Tulsa PAC stage into a life-sized story book with elegance and humor (choreographed by Andrew McNicol). In April, famous feuding families -the Capulets and Montagues- inadvertently create a forbidden love amongst their rivalry with Romeo & Juliet, choreographed by Edwaard Liang, no stranger to Tulsa Ballet.
Wrapping up the 2026|2027 Season is Carmen, set in a gritty world pulsing with danger and desire and choreographed by Kenneth Tindall, who has become a new Tulsa favorite after the success of his Alice in Wonderland ballet.
