Tulsa Ballet Announces Bold New Lineup for Creations in Studio K:
TULSA, OK – August 19, 2025 – Tulsa Ballet proudly announces the return of its acclaimed Creations in Studio K program, an annual platform dedicated to commissioning new works by the world’s most in-demand choreographers. This season, the program will fully embody its mission; serving as a launch pad for some of today’s most compelling choreographic voices plus the return of a fan favorite.
This year’s triple bill promises an electrifying blend of innovation, artistry, and bold storytelling from three powerhouse creators, offering audiences a rare chance to experience ballet on the cutting edge.
Leading the program is Stephanie Martinez, whom has created pieces for prestigious companies such as Joffrey Ballet and Kansas City Ballet and is known for her emotionally rich and inventive work. This season, she will craft a brand new piece for Tulsa Ballet’s main company, bringing her signature sophistication and unique creative perspective to the Studio K stage.
Next, Tulsa Ballet welcomes Natasha Adorlee, an Emmy Award-winning choreographer, filmmaker, composer, and educator. Adorlee will collaborate with TBII, Tulsa Ballet’s second company, to premiere a daring new work. With a portfolio that includes commissions for Jacob’s Pillow, Pixar Animation Studios, National Geographic, and The New Yorker Magazine, as well as companies such as the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, Adorlee’s multi-disciplinary approach and cinematic style are sure to captivate audiences.
The evening concludes with a reimagined work by internationally renowned choreographer Kenneth Tindall. Originally debuted at Tulsa Ballet’s Icons & Idols Gala, this new vision from Tindall, Resident Choreographer of Northern Ballet, takes ballet in a whole new direction, mixing country music with a healthy dose of Oklahoma charm. Recognized as the choreographer for Tulsa Ballet’s 2025 production of Alice in Wonderland, Tindall is known for big entertainment and visually pleasing works.
“Creations in Studio K has always been about pushing boundaries and giving our dancers and audiences a window into what’s next in ballet,” said Marcello Angelini, Artistic Director of Tulsa Ballet. “This year’s lineup exemplifies the diversity and depth of the contemporary dance world, featuring voices that are not only relevant but revolutionary.”
