Pointe Shoe Fund

In March 2022, Tulsa Ballet will yet again mount its highly acclaimed production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Known for its intense technical rigor as much as its famous love story, Swan Lake would not be possible without the key to every ballerina’s success: the pointe shoe.

Made by hand, pointe shoes are expertly engineered to enable dancers to perform incredible feats of athleticism on stage. Unfortunately, due to the rigors of ballet, a dancer can go through as many as 40 pairs of pointe shoes per season. Some only last one rehearsal day or a single performance evening. With each pair costing over $100, this is no small expense!
