Our season closer takes a look at choreographers that find inspiration across genres and seamlessly blend styles to create works with long-lasting, widespread appeal. Classical ballet and Broadway-style dance fuse together in all three works for a joyful evening of movement.
World Premiere | Katarzyna Kozielska
Polish Choreographer Katarzyna Kozielska is one of the most exciting new voices coming out of Europe. Marcello wanted Tulsa Ballet and Tulsa audiences to be the first in the US to experience the creative power of this young choreographer!
Por Vos Muero | Nacho Duato
For the first time in over 10 years, this Duato masterpiece returns to the Tulsa stage! Por Vos Muero (translated, For Thee I Die) uses the poetry of Garcilaso de la Vega and Spanish Renaissance music to create a piece that transcends time.
Remember Our Song | Andy Blankenbuehler
Encore performance! In 2018, the three-time Tony Award-winning choreographer of Broadway’s Hamilton choreographed a brand new work inspired by Tulsa Ballet dancers – his first commission for a ballet company! It was so good, that we want to see it again…and so will you.
