Haruka Tanabe is from Kagoshima, Japan. She began her ballet career at the Higuchi Ballet Studio in 2009. In 2019 she started studying at the Zurich Dance Academy under Steffi Scherzer and Risa Yajima-Boisnon in Switzerland. She graduated in 2023. During the four years at school, she performed Valse Fantasies (solo couple) by George Balanchine, Napoli by August Bournonville, On the Verge of Ascending by Jon Ole Olstad, Under the Sway of Thy Gentle Wings by Seh-Yun Kim at the Opernhaus Zürich. In 2023, Tanabe was a finalist at the Prix de Lausanne. This is her first season with Tulsa Ballet II.
