Event Series: Europe Tour 2025

Touring has become an integral part of Tulsa Ballet’s DNA, and we are proud to be the Official Cultural Ambassador for the State of Oklahoma by proclamation of Governor Brad Henry.

Understanding the importance of touring, both internally and for our city, state and region, Tulsa Ballet established a touring endowment meant to insure its ability to continue sharing the cultural accomplishments of our city with the world. We want to thank the Lou and Connie Miller Charitable Foundation for pledging to fully fund this program.

For the first time in decades, Tulsa Ballet will tour twice in one season! In fall 2024, Tulsa Ballet took its smash-hit production of Strictly Gershwin to the Cleveland’s Playhouse Square, the largest performing arts center in the country outside of Lincoln Center in New York City. In May 2025, Tulsa Ballet will return to Europe, performing both in Italy and Germany. Stay tuned for further touring announcements coming in April 2025!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: MADE IN AMERICA

The Made in America (in Italy) and From Ballet to Broadway (Germany) program showcases the evolution of American dance. Developed for Tulsa Ballet’s European tour, this selection highlights works created on American companies, two of which were commissioned for Tulsa Ballet.

The program opens with Classical Symphony by Yuri Possokhov, a dynamic fusion of European classical ballet with the speed, agility, and technical precision of American ballet. Divenire by Nicolo Fonte follows, featuring music by Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi, a piece originally created for Tulsa Ballet. The program concludes with Remember Our Song by renowned Broadway choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, embodying the energy and entertainment of American dance. Together, these works reflect the diverse influences that define dance in America today.
