The mission of our Creations in Studio K program is to commission new works by the most sought-after choreographers in the world, while giving space to new and exciting voices to be heard. This season fully embodies that vision, showcasing some of the most prominent and sophisticated choreographic voices of our time, while commissioning new works by the stars of tomorrow.
The program opens with the return of Emmy Award–winning choreographer Natasha Adorlee, following her Tulsa debut last season in Creations in Studio K: Horas de Hamra for TBII. This year, Adorlee brings her dynamic creativity to the main company with an exciting new work.
Next, Tulsa Ballet welcomes back Yury Yanowsky to create for TBII. A former superstar of Boston Ballet and now Artistic Curator of Festival Ballet Providence, Yanowsky has choreographed works for many of America’s leading ballet companies, including Boston Ballet and Atlanta Ballet.
This groundbreaking triple bill concludes with a reimagined work by former Tulsa Ballet resident choreographer and current Artistic Director of Richmond Ballet, Ma Cong. Originally debuting at Tulsa Ballet’s Icons & Idols Gala, the piece will be reimagined and reshaped for its proscenium-stage World Premiere.

ABOUT THE CHOREOGRAPHERS
NATASHA ADORLEE
Natasha Adorlee is an Emmy Award–winning choreographer, filmmaker, composer, and educator whose multimedia work spans stage, film, and immersive performance, blending her extensive dance training with innovation and community-focused artistic projects. Natasha returns to Tulsa to create a piece on the main company after having created a piece on TBII last year.
YURY YANOWSKY
Yury Yanowsky (born 1972 in Lyon, France) choreographer best known for his 22-year tenure as a principal dancer with the Boston Ballet, where he excelled in leading roles across the classical repertory. Since retiring from the stage, he has gained international acclaim for his choreography and teaching, creating works for major companies and serving on faculty at institutions including Harvard University.
MA CONG
Ma Cong is a ballet artist, acclaimed choreographer, and the current Artistic Director of Richmond Ballet, having taken the helm of the company in 2024 after a distinguished international career. He trained at the Beijing Dance Academy, danced for years as a principal with Tulsa Ballet before becoming resident choreographer, and has created original works performed by major companies around the world.
