Set in a gritty world pulsing with danger and desire, Kenneth Tindall’s Carmen reimagines the classic tale of passion and power through striking contemporary movement. Amid the relentless rhythm of factory life, the magnetic and untamed Carmen defies control, igniting obsession in the steadfast soldier Don José. Their intoxicating connection spirals into a battle between freedom and possession, as jealousy and longing blur the line between love and destruction. Driven by raw emotion and cinematic intensity, Carmen is a seductive, modern portrait of desire pushed to its breaking point.
Choreographed by British choreographer, director, producer and Northern Ballet’s Resident Choreographer Kenneth Tindall with music by Georges Bizet, Rodion Shchedrin, and Alexandra Harwood, expect Carmen to keep you on the edge of your seat!

ABOUT LORTON PERFORMANCE CENTER
The Roxana Rózsa and Robert Eugene Lorton Performance Center, located on the University of Tulsa campus, is TU’s premier facility for music, film, and performance arts. Completed in 2011 as part of the Embrace the Future campaign, the 77,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art building houses the School of Music and Department of Film Studies and features the 635-seat Gussman Concert Hall with a full performance stage, advanced lighting and acoustics, and a hydraulic orchestra pit. The center also includes the elegant Graves Grand Hall lobby, the Meinig Recital Hall, the George Kaiser Family Foundation Rehearsal Hall, specialized rehearsal and practice spaces, faculty studios, film post-production labs, dressing suites, production shops, and audience amenities.
