Create, Collaborate, Celebrate
September 14-23, 2018
For the past twelve years, Creations in Studio K has been dedicated to furthering innovation in dance by commissioning new works from world renowned choreographers.
Our annual Creations program will be extra special this season as Tulsa audiences will enjoy the first major collaboration between Tulsa Ballet and the Philbrook Museum of Art entitled Pentaptych. Featuring new choreography by Resident Choreographer Ma Cong, an all-new musical score by Ryan Lott commissioned by Philbrook, and original artwork created live on-stage by artist Eric Sall at every performance, this promises to be a groundbreaking event.
Creations in Studio K will also feature the reprisal of Alejandro Cerrudo’s Second to Last. Cerrudo’s work was selected through our newly implemented Dancer’s Choice program, which empowers the company dancers to participate in the artistic selection of choreography in order to share with you their favorite works. Watch the video below for an inside look at the creation of this work.
This triple-bill evening of dance will conclude with an exciting World Premiere by in-demand dance-maker Jennifer Archibald, Resident Choreographer for Cincinnati Ballet, entitled PARHELIA.
BROOKSIDE BLOCK PARTY AT THE BALLET – Thurs. Sept. 20th from 5:00-7:30PM. FREE EVENT featuring live music, food trucks, craft beer, local vendors and more! Be sure to get your ticket to Creations in Studio K which will begin after the Block Party concludes at 7:30pm that evening. LEARN MORE
