Youhee was born in Seoul, South Korea and graduated from the Perm State Ballet School in Russia with honors. While attending a pre-professional program at the Ecole Superieure de Danse de Cannes-Mougins Rosella Hightower in France, Youhee was invited to join Cannes Jeune Ballet, where she spent two seasons. In 2004, she joined Universal Ballet in South Korea and was promoted to demi-soloist in 2005 and soloist in 2006. Youhee joined Tulsa Ballet in 2013. Throughout her career, she has appeared in numerous leading roles including Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, the title role in Cinderella, Kitri in Don Quixote, Gamzatti in La Bayadere, Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, and Olga in Onegin, among others. Youhee has also performed contemporary works like Minus 7 (Naharin), Petite Mort (Kylian), In the Middle Somewhat Elevated (Forsythe), Classical Symphony (Possokhov), and Infra (McGregor). In addition, she has originated roles in new works by choreographers like Luciano Cannito, Ma Cong, Jorma Elo, Nicolo Fonte, Young Soon Hue, and Ashley Page. In 2010, she was named “Rookie of the Year” by the Korean Dance Association.
