Rachel Ammerman has lived in Tulsa her entire life. She was enchanted with dance before she could talk and started taking ballet when she was six years old. She hasn’t stopped dancing since. Growing up, she trained in classical ballet, pointe, modern, and tap. When she was in high school, she was asked to help assist with the younger students’ classes. She fell in love helping others learn and discover their passion and joy in dancing. She started teaching classes in 2007 and then later pursued a degree in dance performance at ORU, graduating Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelors in 2012. She has taught classes to all ages in ballet, pointe, contemporary, beginning tap, creative movement, and improvisation. In 2019 she attended Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet workshops from Dance Specialist Ashley Boyack, Tanner Dance, and Johanne Gingras, Teacher Training Program Director, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Rachel believes in furthering her own education to be a better teacher to her students. Rachel lives with her husband and children in Broken Arrow.
