Originally from Sweden, Alexandra received her formative training from Valia Seiskaya in New York. She began her professional career as an apprentice with Tulsa Ballet, rising through the ranks to perform principal roles in a wide range of classical, Balanchine, and contemporary works. Known for her commanding stage presence and a fluid yet powerful movement quality, Alexandra delivered memorable performances as the Chosen One in The Rite of Spring, Olympe in Lady of the Camellias, Myrtle in The Great Gatsby, Milady in The Three Musketeers, and the principal woman in Val Caniparoli’s Lambarena, Ma Cong’s Carmina Burana, and Nacho Duato’s Arenal and Rassemblement. She has danced leading roles in La Sylphide, Theme and Variations, Push Comes to Shove, Carmen, Black Tuesday, and The Concert. Alexandra also performed works by Jiří Kylián and William Forsythe and originated roles in creations by Val Caniparoli, Young Soon Hue, Tony Fabre, Ma Cong, and Nicolo Fonte. Featured in Pointe Magazine and on the cover of Dance Magazine, she was also an awardee at the NFAA Arts Competition in Miami, Florida.
Alexandra retired from the stage in 2013, after which she has staged works by Ma Cong for BalletMet, Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Des Moines, Tulsa Ballet II, and the Kansas City Dance Festival. She also assisted in the staging of Rooster by Christopher Bruce at Tulsa Ballet.
Alexandra launched the Dance Minor Program at Oklahoma State University’s Stillwater campus, where she taught all required courses for the degree. Currently, Alexandra is a ballet, contemporary, and character dance instructor at TBCDE, serves as a Nutcracker Children’s répétiteur, and teaches outreach programs to elementary students. She continues to perform with Tulsa Ballet as a Character Guest Artist.
