ADELINE GINGELL

School Pianist

Adeline (Adi) Gingell has been a dance accompanist for the past nine years and is currently the full-time school pianist for Tulsa Ballet Center for Dance Education. She was previously an accompanist for Houston Ballet Academy, Texas Academy of Dance Arts, University of Houston, and Florida State University. 

Adi is originally from the small town of Sturbridge, Massachusetts where she was homeschooled from kindergarten through junior year of high school! She began playing the piano at five years old and fell in love with music. After many years with her local piano teacher, she spent her senior year studying piano and composition at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music.  

She graduated summa cum laude from Messiah University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, where she specialized in improvisation and composition. She was a collaborative pianist for both the music and theatre departments where she played for individual students, ensembles, choirs, and musical theatre productions. 

She began her career in dance accompaniment in 2017 through the Houston Ballet Apprentice Pianist Program, a six-month intensive dance pianist training program led by Bill Patterson.  

With her background in jazz and musical theatre as well as classical music, she loves to provide fun and engaging music for class, giving the dancers both support and inspiration. She especially enjoys playing and teaching music to younger dancers and is always excited to share her combined love of music and dance.
