Hyonjun Rhee

Hyonjun Rhee was born in Seoul, Korea. He studied at the Sun-hwa Art School and the Korea National University of Arts. He was awarded “Danseur Nobre” in 2009 by the Korean Dance Association. Hyonjun joined Universal Ballet in 2007, and was promoted to Principal dancer in 1 year. He joined Tulsa Ballet in 2013 and has performed leading roles in Onegin (Cranko), Romeo & Juliet (MacMillan), Cinderella (Stevenson), The Nutcracker (Angelini), Giselle, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadère, Don Quixote, Shim Chung, Petite Mort and Sechs Tänze (Kylián), Black Cake (van Manen), In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated (Forsythe), Minus 7 (Naharin), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Wheeldon), This is Your Life and Contrast (Hue), Lady of the Camellias (Caniparoli), Classical Symphony (Possokhov), The Four Temperaments (Balanchine), Angle of Incidence (Gates), The Fullest Recreation (Neenan), Axis Mundi (Fonte), Juxtaposed, Uniko (Ma Cong), One/End/One (Elo), Extremely Close (Cerrudo), Rooster (Bruce) and among many other roles.
