Silas started dancing at the Academy of Ballet San Francisco at the age of ten years old. At 15, he went to the Joffrey summer intensive in San Antonio for their six week program, and at the early age of 17 he was invited to guest dance at Santa Rosa Dance Theatre in their performance of The Nutcracker. During his first year as a member of Tulsa Ballet II, Silas danced roles in Raymonda Suite, and Ma Cong's Match Point, as well as in main company productions of Ben Stevenson's Dracula, and Marcello Angelini’s The Nutcracker. Further opportunities included dancing roles with Tulsa Opera in The Most Happy Fella and Aida.
