Jiyan Dai started dancing at the Shenyang Dance Academy, and during that time he won the Bronze medal at Japan’s 2004 IBC in Nagoya. He then received his Bachelor’s degree from the Bejing Dance Academy, and during that time he also won the Artistry Award in the 2006 Vaganova IBC in St. Petersburg. He joined the Universal Ballet Company in Seoul, Korea and performed Principal roles in The Nutcracker, Onegin, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, and contemporary works by Jiri Kylian, Heinz Spoerli, Ohad Naharin, and William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated. In 2012, Dai joined the Tulsa Ballet company and danced roles in Dracula, Presentient, The Four Temperaments, The Nutcracker, Lady of the Camellias, Classical Symphony and there, below.
