Jose Antonio Checa Romero

Born in Madrid, Spain, José received his dance training in Madrid, and at the world famous Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St. Petersburg. He was a Soloist for the Mikhailovsky Ballet Theatre in St. Petersburg. He was also a guest artist with Suite Española Company, Choreographic Miniatures and the Odessa Ballet in Ukraine. His repertory includes Le Corsaire, La Sylphide, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Theme and Variations, Elite Syncopations, Le Spectre de la Rose and many more. José won Tanzolymp international competition and Gold Medal at the International Competition of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Spain. This is José's third season with Tulsa Ballet.
